Springfield College Recognizes Dean's List Students for the 2019 Spring Semester.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

60% percent of Bates College students elect to study abroad through the college's Center for Global Education. Bates' nationally recognized international education program offers access to academically rigorous and culturally enriching programs in more than 60 countries.

217 Bates College students presented research at the 18th Mount David Summit. The annual celebration of academic achievement highlights undergraduate research; student creative work in art, dance, theater, music and film/video; projects conducted in the context of academic courses; and community-engaged research.

More than 830 students have been named to the spring 2019 Dean's List. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above.

Members of the Class of 2019 received their diplomas May 19 at Colgate University's 198th Commencement. Colgate Alumnus Antonio Delgado, U.S. Representative for the 19th Congressional District of New York, delivered the keynote address.

At the 187th Commencement ceremony on May 26, Wesleyan conferred 763 bachelor of arts degrees; 44 master of arts degrees; 22 master of arts in liberal studies degrees; and 11 doctor of philosophy degrees.

The following students have been named to the dean's list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in April 2019.

Some 3,275 students were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 218th commencement ceremonies. Darren Walker who presides over the Ford Foundation, one of the world's most influential social justice philanthropies and one of the largest private foundations in the United States, delivered the address.

A total of 615 bachelor degrees were awarded by St. Lawrence University during Commencement ceremonies, which were held on May 19 in Canton, New York.

Challenge. Failure. Resilience. Triumph. And what it means to be a Gettysburgian through it all. These and other themes were reflected during Gettysburg College's 184th Commencement ceremony as we celebrated the accomplishments of our 611 graduates and looked forward with them to the future. Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni.

On May 8, more than 300 Wesleyan students received University prizes and awards during a reception. Wesleyan's awards, prizes, and scholarships program connects recipients to the legacies of alumni, administrators, faculty, and friends of the university whose lives and work are honored through endowed gifts. Recipients of the academic scholarships, fellowships, and prizes represent the highest ideals of Wesleyan--intellectual curiosity, academic excellence, creative expression, leadership, and service.

Sixty students participated in the Spring Theatre production of West Side Story, directed by Professor of Theatre Mark Cryer. A cast of 26 students participated in the Spring Theatre production of West Side Story, directed by Professor of Theatre Mark Cryer. A live orchestra, featuring 30 students and conducted by Heather Buchman, accompanied the performance. The classic American musical received an update with the Theatre Department's production. Set in 2018 Bronx, New York, five months after hurricane Maria, the timeless musical tells a story of love, of otherness and street gangs. West Side Story was presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

There are 55 Gettysburg College students being inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in the spring of 2019. Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest Greek-letter society in America, exists to promote liberal learning, to recognize academic excellence, and to support and encourage scholars in their work.

The College Hill Singers, under Visiting Assistant Professor of Music and Interim Director of Choral Activities Danan Tsan, performed in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Charleston, and Tampa during the annual spring break tour. The 24-member group performed music from the western canon and around the world including Cum Sancto Spiritu by Hyo-Won Woo (Korea), Norwegian Alleluia by Kim Andre Arneson (Norway), Sleepsong by Rolf Lovland and arranged by Desmond Earley (Ireland), Daemon Irrepit Callidus by Gyorgy Orban (Hungary), and Earth Blessing by J David Moore (American Indian), among others.

Gettysburg College students take pride in their work, and we are likewise proud to announce their recent academic achievements. Students whose semester averages were 3.6 or above were recently placed on the Dean's Honor List. The following local students have been awarded this outstanding academic achievement in the Fall 2018 semester.

Fifteen students are participating in the Hamilton Program in Washington this spring. The program provides a combination of academic study and experience in national government.

Discovery Team peer advisors are students who have been trained to assist other students with career development topics such as writing resumes and cover letters, networking, and interviewing. Connect Team network associates engage fellow students in industry-specific career-related exploration such as searching and applying for opportunities and building networking skills.
